Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX): Stock of the Day
Open Text Corporation (Nasdaq: OTEX): Stock of the Day by David Fessler, Advisory Panelist One Stock to Watch in this Little-Known Software Sector The swine flu virus has a number of biotech stocks moving upwards, and pork producers moving downwards. Unless this turns into a full-blown pandemic, both of these represent a typical knee-jerk over-reaction by the markets, fueled by silly misinformation, hyped by the mainstream news media. There is another sector, however that is on fire at the moment. And it has nothing to do with pandemics. This little-known software sector has companies [More...]

Are Tech Stocks Expensive?
This weekend we ran the Alert HQ process and generated the list of Trend Leaders. These stocks and ETFs are distinguished by strong recent performance. Using daily data, we look for stocks that are over their 50-day moving average. We then use three different technical indicators to determine trend: Aroon, DMI and MACD. All three indicators must be registering strong readings in order for a stock or ETF to make the list of Trend Leaders. Below we present those stocks from the Tech sector that made this week's list. Data is as of the close on Friday, 3/20/09. SymbolName Last Price Market Cap PE Ratio Price to Sales Price to Book PEG Ratio [More...]

Twelve Stocks That Aren’t Corrupt Or Manipulated
Yeah, it’s sad, trust me, I know. Friggin promoters go into hiding in the Caribbean during true bear markets, hopefully we can tempt one or two out—maybe tell ‘em Osama bin SEC is taking the month of July off to reevaluate their priorities—cuz I hate writing/trading about the real—or mostly real—companies below:Getting lots of emails over the weekend from people wondering whether they should dip their toes in FPP, PDO, ROYL…I dunno man, these things tanked once and rebounded gradually, but as I posted in <a href="http://www.timothysykes.com/timsykes/2008/07/06/why-ill-never-buy-stocks-that-are-breaking-down-no-matter-how-much-kool-aid-is-involved/...
